











Dissolve the sugar in the lukewarm water, stirring quickly.
Add the fresh juice of about 2 oranges and then the oil.
Sift the flour with the baking powder and add it to the liquid mixture.
Add the grated peel of an untreated orange and mix well so that the batter is smooth and homogeneous.
Pour the batter into an oiled and floured cake pan and bake in the oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool.

Store in an airtight container to keep it moist and fresh.
Excellent if accompanied by a glass of fresh orange juice for a boost of vitamin C.
