Superior category olive oil obtained directly from olives and solely by mechanical means. A symbol of the Mediterranean Diet, this Olio extravergine Selezione Cutrera is produced in the southeastern part of Sicily from centuries-old olive groves facing south, at an altitude of 150-400 meters above sea level and close to the Mediterranean. It is a blend mix, an exclusive selection from the Frantoi Cutrera. Varieties: Moresca, Biancolilla, Nocellara, Cerasuola, Tonda Iblea. Harvest method: manual and mechanized harvesting. Harvest period: from November 1 until the end of production. Extraction method: two-phase continuous cold cycle. Appearance: green, cloudy due to natural decantation. Scent: full-bodied with a pronounced artichoke note. Taste/Aroma: full-bodied, with a very balanced bitterness and spiciness, featuring notes of artichoke and oregano. The Frantoi Cutrera The Cutrera Family has an important name in oil production in Sicily. With 50 hectares of hillside olive groves, it has produced very high-quality oil since 1979 and its name has been internationally recognized multiple times: Gold Medal Los Angeles 2005; 1st place "Leone d’oro" dei Mastri 2004; 1st place "Festambiente" Grosseto 2004; 3 olives Slow Food Guide 2003-2005; 1st place "Ercole Oliario".
