Chianti Classico Badia a Passignano The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Badia a Passignano by Antinori is produced in vineyards located in the heart of the DOCG Chianti Classico. It is made exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, carefully handpicked and selected between late September and the first week of October. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks for about 10 days, with maceration on the skins for another 10-12 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in Hungarian oak barriques and further in the bottle before being released to the market. The wine has a ruby color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it expresses scents of plum and blackberry, notes of violet, and hints of licorice. On the palate, it is warm, enveloping, sumptuously soft, with velvety tannins. It has a long-lasting finish.
